Teatime Candles are Chic Gifts for Bridesmaids

Today, on day 7 of my 31 Days of Flipping Out, I’m sharing how my daughter makes homemade teatime candles. It’s easy and makes great gifts for bridesmaids and other bridal party members.

As an Art History minor, my daughter is another creative one in our family and it gives me great joy to share her ideas with you. Amy loves candles, incense and all things fragrant. She also loves to make things and give them as gifts to those who might feel a little under the weather or might be celebrating something exciting. Amy works in a coffee/tea shop and as a result has access to empty tea cans, so she brought a few home.

She purchases soy wax flakes, wicks and fragrance at local hobby stores and within just a few minutes (minus the drying time), has several candles ready for gifting.

Preferring the way a wooden wick burns and smells as opposed to braided cotton, she adds those to the candles. This is a matter of taste. You can use either. Just be sure to buy treated wood; it burns and lights much easier.

Using a sturdy piece of dry cookware, heat the wax in a glass jar until melted.

Once melted, just pour the wax into your containers with the wick in the middle of course.

Next you add your choice of fragrance. You could choose scents that are close to the name of the tea, but my girl loves the smell of the ocean.

Aren’t handmade gifts the sweetest? They make great gifts for bridesmaids, too.
